ACTIVITY DESCRIPTIONS

Tales in Tails
Dressed in his tails and top hat John Harrison is set to entertain everyone with his hilarious interpretations of various children’s books.

Ills and Chills
With winter chills in the air, Flagstaff Hill’s Apothecary Dr John Harrison provides an entertaining insight into the medicines and treatments used to cure winter ailments in the 1800’s.*

Marvellous Medicines
Flagstaff Hill's Apothecary Dr John Harrison looks at the curious ailments that affect our bodies and the 19th century treatments which were practiced and administered.  What he has to tell you will make you grateful for the advancements of modern medicine today!*

CRAFT

Origami Whales
Using traditional origami techniques fold and decorate your very own paper whale. Make different colours and sizes to create Humpback, Southern Right and Blue whales, mothers and babies and use them to create a whale mobile or wall hanging.

Glass Jar Lanterns
Create a beautiful lantern with a recycled jar, some glue and coloured paper. Finish it off with a handle and a battery operated tea light, wait until dark and watch it light up the night.

Signal Flag Bunting
Signal flags are used to convey messages from ships to shore and back again. Using international code flags create your own signal flag bunting which spells your name or a favourite phrase, then develop your own flag with your own special meaning.

Dream Catchers
Using repurposed wire coat hangers and a variety of shiny, sparkly and feathery embellishments create a dream catcher to display above your bed.

Old Fashioned Paper Dolls
Paper dolls were a popular children’s toy in times gone by. Choose your own paper doll template and decorate a variety of 1800’s outfits to dress your doll so they are prepared for any occasion.

Jiggly Jellyfish
Using shiny reflective card with ribbon, streamers and textured materials design and create a beautiful jelly fish with wobbly, flowing tentacles that will jiggle around as if it was swimming though the ocean.

Woodworking
Choose from a wide selection of pre-made, fun and easy woodwork kits for kids to build. With the friendly Warrnambool Men’s Shed helpers on hand, D.I.Y has never been this much fun. Each kit is $5, payable direct to the woodworkers.
