In 1888 the Warrnambool Garrison was established to make the isolated port of Warrnambool safe from any potential threats by foreign superpowers.

Today small groups can stay in the Warrnambool Garrison Camp that is located in the original garrison area and experience this historic local landmark.

Garrison Camp provides British Bell Tents in the historic Garrison area which is located next to Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village, providing the perfect backdrop and outlet for your group. Being so close, it is easy to combine your stay with a visit to Flagstaff Hill and take advantage of the history that surrounds.

Current Facilities

Warrnambool Garrison Camp Bell Tents are designed from the era of the 1890's but made with modern strong canvas and waterproofing.

The maximum group size for the Garrison area is 30 people.

Please Note - Larger groups can be accommodated by tailoring a package with Surfside Holiday Park which is located adjacent to Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village.

Our facilities include:

  • Shower Block and Toilets

  • Garrison Communal Mess Hall (located in the orginal 1888 Mess Hall)

  • Fire Pit and Wood Supplied

  • BBQ area

  • Full Catering Packages - that include a meal and access to Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village

What is in the Warrnambool Garrison Bell Tent?

  • Each bell tent has 4 camp bed stretchers

  • All are floored to provide warmth and provide space for storage of bags

Things To Consider

  • Your group will have an amazing outdoor camp experience in the historic garrison area.

  • Our catering packages make your group camp so easy, plus we provide healthy eating menus and can cater for any dietry requirements.

  • Your group will be warm in our Bell Tents and  Mess Hall. However, please ensure your group brings warmer clothing for when outdoors.

Pricing

Prices start at just $25 per person per night.

Packages that include catering, bus transfers, activities and Shipwrecked Sound and Laser Show can also be developed.
